Business Model Development and Validation

Bahasa Melayu title: Pembangunan dan Pengesahan Model Perniagaan

Programme overview

A good product is not the same as a viable business. This programme guides participants through designing a complete business model: who the customer is, what value is offered, how it is delivered, how money is earned and what it costs to operate. Using the Business Model Canvas and practical validation techniques, participants identify their riskiest assumptions and plan how to test them with real customers. The emphasis is on evidence rather than optimism, helping entrepreneurs and programme coordinators decide which ventures to develop, refine or rethink before significant resources are committed.

Target participants

  • Early-stage and growing entrepreneurs
  • Start-up and incubator participants
  • Business advisers and programme coordinators

Learning outcomes

By the end of the programme, participants will be able to:

  • Map a business using the nine building blocks of the Business Model Canvas
  • Articulate a clear value proposition for a defined customer segment
  • Identify the critical assumptions that determine whether the model will work
  • Design simple experiments to test demand, pricing and channels
  • Refine the business model based on the evidence gathered
